Housing Minister and Saligao MLA Jayesh Salgaonker has said the Goa Tourism Development Corporation has sanctioned Rs 8 crore to construct a walkway from the Reis Magos fort to the lighthouse at Kegdole.
The minister also informed that repairs and hot mixing of the roads from O’Coqueiro Circle to St Alex Church Circle at Calangute and from Malim Jetty to Nerul will be tendered this week and work would start soon.
He was speaking at Kegdole after launching the High Mast lamp in the presence of Reis Magos Sarpanch Virendra Shirodkar, Dy Sarpanch Siya Nagvekar, panch Sheilesh Parulekar and a group of locals.
“This High Mast lamp has been installed by the GTDC at a cost of Rs 10 lakh. This cost also includes benches and beatification of the surroundings,” said Salgaonkar.
The Minister further said the PWD has sanctioned Rs 60 crore for repairs and hotmixing of internal roads of Saligao constituency.
“Similarly, the Water Resource Department has cleared 55 proposals and the estimated cost of each project is around Rs 3 lakh.
Earlier in her welcome speech, Dy Sarpanch Siya Nagvekar said no development had taken place of Kegdole area for the last 10 years and thanked Salgaonkar for taking interest in developing this area. Sarpanch Virendra Shirodker later proposed the vote of thanks.
